The author describes in detail the vision problems he faces and gives detailed information on the treatment he is undergoing and the medication he is receiving; he suggests that Cavafy consult with doctor upon his return. Reference to the spectacles available in Alexandria, and in particular to an operetta that was performed; to persons related to the social circle of the city as well as to entertainment habits.
