Version 1 of Dataset published 2025 via 4TU.ResearchData
This dataset presents interdisciplinary research on coastal morphodynamics, focusing on the development of a novel computational framework that couples marine and aeolian models to simulate coastal evolution. The study uses the Sand Engine mega-nourishment in the Netherlands as a case study, integrating multiple models including Delft3D Flexible Mesh, SWAN, and AeoLiS through the Basic Model Interface (BMI) to enable comprehensive cross-domain sediment transport simulation. Data sources include Digital Elevation Model (DEM) data, LiDAR measurements, Jetski surveys, and JarKus coastal measurements for the simulation setup. The research employed advanced computational techniques to explore interactions between marine and wind-driven sediment transport processes. The dataset contains model configurations, coupling framework scripts, model outputs, analysis tools, and visualization materials.
