The goal of this study was to understand the performance of a global optimisation (GO) method for acoustic source identification versus conventional processing methods such as conventional beamforming.
Acoustic measurements were recorded with a phased array of 112 MEMS microphones in the anechoic room of Delft University of Technology. The measurements included several configurations of three speakers in order to record a controlled three-dimensional multi-source environment. These measurements were processed with a global optimization algorithm adapted for acoustic source identification.
